If you need to translate the entire text of your document, there are a number of online translators available, such as Google Translate or Microsoft Translator. Word does not have an extensive translator.

In the future - will make sure language on Mac is set to correct one that is set in Microsoft Word. Changing this back to English in System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources (here you change + - languages), starting a new word document solved the issue.
